John Sipher studied piano with Mrs. Perfect beginning in 1961 at age 8, and with Columbus jazz master Dave Wheeler from '68 to '71. During those years he played with local bands such as The Green Distortion and Cold Beer before moving on to stints with the Dave Workman Blues Band (1970/71) and Willie Pooch's band (1972). He met Ellie Lee in 1974 while playing with a R&B/rock cover band in the Canton-Alliance area.

Then, out of the blue one day in 2009 after a 30+ year hiatus working a "real" job, Ellie called and said "Hey - wanna be in a blues band?" John said "Hell, yes!" and now is living the dream playing with the best band of his life.
